i'm not sure if he is actually sleeping or just being quiet and still. i hope he is sleeping but his eyes pop open occasionally. he keeps complaining that his butt and his upper legs hurt - bad. that is more from the beds than anything else. he was in one position for so long and didn't move. the beds are also really hard on the lower back.. i remember that from my two pregnancies. i've been rubbing his legs and his butt to help with the pain. we may have gotten him into a better position though now with his legs elevated.
he's speaking clearly but doesn't always have the right words. it is nothing alarming but just watching it. i've seen the MRI and now there is a big hole in his head. feel FREE to use that phrase in any way you like when this is all over.. i know i'll be teasing him about it.
i am thinking the right thing is for me to keep mark in little rock until the first week appointment. i will ask to have that appointment on monday if at all possible. he is just in no shape to get in a car for 5 hours by friday. the hotel we are at is designed for this.. comfy but not flashy with the ability to just rest. i think it would be a mistake to push this and then be stuck in joplin if something goes bad.
teresa is going to stay until monday, jim and jr arrive on sunday and hopefully we will be home on monday.

Hospital beds are the worst! Cooper hates them - but a foam eggcrate pad seems to help.
Not that it matters what I think - but I will tell you that it's a good idea you have to stay down there close to the hospital and for Mark not to have to be in the car that much up and back and up and back again.
It will allow him to regain some strength. And also for you to be there for him AND allow YOU to get some rest, not having to take care of the kids too. Very important for caregivers to take care of themselves.
